- Chewy, dried fruit, seed, nut and chocolate energy bars –
Hi, health and super food lovers.
Almost every one of us have times when we crave something sweet or need that little bit of energy kick. Homemade energy bars are amazing alternative for store bought sweets, granola bars or other synthetic full of sugar “energy” boosters.
Basically, there isn't one true recipe how to make perfect energy bars. You can always adjust them to your preference, adding or changing some ingredients. My favorite ones are date base mixed with different nuts, seeds and dried fruits.
Cover dates with boiling water, leave for 5 – 10 minutes to soften. Put dates with water in to mixer, I love using my “Nutri Bullet”, mix till it turns in paste.
Take medium mixing bowl, put in date paste adding little bits of your chosen seeds, nuts and fruits, till consistency is hard enough to make bars. Cover brownie (square) cake tin with baking paper, spread evenly energy bar mixture.
This step is optional, and for true dark chocolate lovers. Basically, mix cocoa powder with coconut oil. If mixture is too biter add a little bit of honey, till you are happy with taste. Spread chocolate on top of energy bar mixture. Freeze at least 1 hour, best to overnight. Take them out and cut in smaller bars. ENYOY!
Recommend!!! Bars turn out very great! They taste amazing and really gives you energy. Thanks for sharing this recipe. :)
